I am 16 and would like to buy contact lenses. I know you have to pay quite a lot each month but that's OK. I've looked on the Boots website under the Opticians section, and it says if you are under 19 and in full education (which I am) you are entitled to a free eye test. However, I can't find how much they will be each month, if you understand me. Could someone please help me find this? Any other advice on contact lenses would be useful. Thanks.

well the monthy ones from boots are only about £6 per month and you will have to pay £18 for the first 3 months when you first use them they would be delivered by post from the boots monthly vision plan.

your sight test is free if your in full time education. Try specsavers they offer a FREE contact lens trial u can pay by direct debt & the lenses can be posted 2 ur home free of charge or your can pay cash & collect every 3 months from store. Daily lenses r sold in boxes of 30 so 2 boxes of 30 would cost £22 but if u have the same perscription in each eye u can just buy the 1 box that would be £11. have a look on there website or call into ur local store. Most other opticians will charge u for a trial so be carefull.i work at specsavers so i no that there trial is free

I think you will find that although your sight test is free you have to pay £20 for a contact lenses appointment. I have used boots but now have changed to spec-savers. How often were you thinking of wearing them?... as if it's more than 3 times a week I would recommend you try monthly lenses. This is what I wear and from specsavers this works out at only £10 a month. Worth shopping around.

i had the same contact devil on my head few months ago, and wanted to get em, so in this regard i went to boots opticians in london and they gave me a prescription of like 200 poundz, including eye test, so now if u r getting eye test for free then u can minus a bit amount out of the above mentioned and likely they will put u on max 10 pounds a months for kind 20 months, i am sorry if am wrong but this is what i think , be better to check it first

Until you have had an eye examination and contact lens assessment it is impossible to ascertain an accurate cost .It has to be determined what type of lenses you need ie spherical lenses or toric to correct astigmatism, what lens material you need for the health of your eyes, and many other variables.Be wary when opting for "free trials" free does not usually equal best care.

I pay £12.50 a month from Specsavers, which includes check ups. They also send free contact lenses if you lose or tear a pair.
